Helium Refrigeration for Large Powers

This short course, to be given at the occasion of ICEC28-ICMC 2022, is a part of the standard helium refrigeration school that is usually delivered by Guy Gistau Baguer. Dr. Guy is the former head of helium refrigeration at Air Liquide. Such a topic is fully developed in the book: “Cryogenic Helium Refrigeration for Middle and Large Powers” written by Guy.
Program：Program
1. A reminder in basic cycles (Joule Thomson Brayton and Claude).
2. Thermodynamic cycles for large powers:
· At temperatures higher than 4.5 K,· At temperatures lower than 4.5 K.3. Connection between the cold box and the system to be cooled.

Notions in helium refrigeration. (The reminders, about cryogenics and heat exchangers, that are generally given at the beginning of a standard session, will be skipped, due to the short time that is allowed)
